This is a rare picture of Swiss immigrants to the United States and provides and intimate glimpse of their views on being Swiss in the world.

EVERGREEN gives a voice to a forgotten generation of Swiss in the United States as interviews are held with both Swiss women are the few oldest, possibly first generation Swiss still living in the United States.  EVERGREEN captures and preserves the oral histories of this pioneering generation as well as the history they preserve from two generations passed before they are lost and become myth or legend.

EVERGREEN provides a candid glimpse into the differences in experiences and perspectives of both Swiss men and Swiss women through discussions on lifestyle, politics, culture, and the future of Switzerland. Personal interviews together with archival footage of Swiss and American history, transports the audience to a significant time through the eyes of Swiss immigrants and preserves a part of Swiss and American history during a significant time in world history.

Their candid discussions on their life and experiences during a time when women’s rights were challenged around the globe, provides a rare glimpse into the effect and challenges of both genders.  Women of the documentary provide a compelling series of stories that disclose a personal tapestry of experiences leading to the reinvention of their lives in their EVERGREEN years with a candid and  intimate perspective into their experiences and thoughts of that era and the future.

EVERGREEN is the beginning of the story of Swiss immigration to the United States and unfolds the story that has yet to be written.  The conversations are both provocative and compelling and can never be told again.  This documentary will inspire young Swiss to look at their unique position the world and claim their own pioneer spirit.
